The start of anything substantial or worthwhile starts with a sense of direction, a pathway, a goal, or an agenda.

Your Specific Few

Life is filled with so many possibilities and avenues, but with all these, we are not called to do all things, but specific few. It is these specific few that give us our sense of direction; they give us the precursor to the kind of goals we would have and embark on; they carve out our path, the challenges we need to overcome, and the courses we are to take; they determines the kind of questions we would ask, the places we would go, and the apprenticeships and jobs we would look out for.

Direction Brings Growth and Prevents Distractions

Having a direction is what births growth; it helps us know the things that are distractions. The start of anything worthwhile starts with direction.

Where there is no direction, there is sparse progress because every wind of distraction becomes attractive. When there is no direction, life would lack meaning and purpose. Direction is a must to have a meaningful life.

Direction Backed with Action

Having direction is the start but it is not sufficient. Knowledge of one’s purpose infuses motivation, but motivation without action is not better than action lacking direction. Direction starts the journey, but persistent action is what we need to progress our lives in meaningful ways.

First, direction; second, action; consistent action toward set goals.

“Without good direction, people lose their way; the more wise counsel you follow, the better your chances.” (Proverbs 11:14, MSG).
