Summary

In His book, “My Father, Connect Me to Your Creative Power”, Dr Olukoya briefly explains the creative power of God, the ability of God to turn a man’s situation around, the provision of God, and God’s faithfulness to His children. He also warns of the evil of mammon.

Chapter 1 — My Father, Connect Me to Your Creative Power

Dr D. K. Olukoya tells us that “God is the ultimate Creator.” He uses scriptural references and true-life stories to illustrate the creative ability of God.

Chapter 2 — Power to Move Out of the Prison

Dr Olukoya uses the life of Joseph in the Bible to make us understand the trials and despair a man may face, and also the mighty power of God to turn situations around. He shows us how depressed and discouraged a man could get using the story of Elijah in the Bible, who sought for death when Jezebel threatened to take his life, and he also makes us see how God can use that kind of situation to move mightily through such a man for a greater good.

Chapter 3 — Power Over Mammon

Dr Olukoya tells us of the danger of being under the control of the power of mammon. He makes us see the limitations of money, and the evil, love for it has caused many. He says, “If God has apportioned wealth to you and you go to add a little unrighteousness to the way you seek your wealth, the result is that you will miss your divine wealth.” He ends this chapter by highlighting seven points on what financial deliverance is.

Chapter 4 — Command Your Breakthroughs

Dr Olukoya tells us breakthrough is serious progress; it is a positive boost, a radical expansion. He makes us understand that it implies a turnaround of situations for the better.

Chapter 5 — Your Season of Remembrance

In this final chapter, Dr Olukoya explicitly assures us that God would never forsake us, and when it seems so, we should yet trust that He is faithful.

Enlightening Quotes

Those who will be great in life are generally not spared of problems and troubles. The strongest trees are those that have weathered serious storms.

Human extremity is God’s opportunity (Unknown).

Our failure as human beings can only serve as a canvas for painting pictures of incomparable success.

If God has allowed you to pass through a particular situation, He will see you through.

If you focus on making money and you do not focus on making heaven, you will become materialistic.

God can make you wealthy either by giving you money or by supplying your needs.

If God has apportioned wealth to you and you go to add a little of unrighteousness to the way you seek your wealth, the result is that you will miss your divine wealth.

God is not a failure; therefore we, His children, should not be a failure in any way.

Quote by Dr D. K. Olukoya, “Those who will be great in life are generally not spared of problems and troubles. The strongest trees are those that have weathered serious storms.”
